Eid Celebration

On Thursday June 13, Lakehead Public Schools students from a number of schools will be joining together at the Boys and Girls Club to celebrate Eid. Many Muslims in Canada celebrate Eid al-Fitr on the first day of Shawwal in the Islamic calendar.
鈥淓id marks the end of the month-long fast of Ramadan and the start of a feast that lasts up to three days in some countries,鈥� says Sheri Cressman, English Language Learner Teacher. 鈥淟akehead Public Schools appreciates and recognizes the importance of our student鈥檚 heritage and diverse backgrounds.鈥�
Students will be sharing a pot luck lunch of traditional dishes from their homelands as well as participating in many activities at the Boys and Girls club.
