Beginning in September 2025, students entering Grade 9 will have the opportunity to take part in an innovative pilot project that will see them build on their hockey skills while participating in a quality academic program and eight secondary credits. The pilot program will be offered to a total of 30 students entering Grade 9 at Hammarskjold and 30 students at Westgate.  This will be a co ed physical education program focused on skill development and strength conditioning on ice and off ice.  Students will participate in 80-100 hours of on ice instruction with local coaches thanks to a partnership with the Thunder Bay Kings.
